Intro to Masters SwimSwimming is a lifetime activity and is an excellent way to get and stay fit. Have you been away from swimming for a while? This program serves as a great way to ease back in to swimming workouts. Prerequisite: Must be able to swim continuously for 200 yards with rotary breathing.Masters SwimWhether you are a serious swimmer looking for a coached workout or training for a triathlon, we have the workout program for you. Prerequisite: Must be able to swim 400 yards without stopping. Must be able to swim 2 lengths each of backstroke and breaststroke. Willingness to learn butterfly and flip turns. Summer 2022 Masters Swim Having trouble getting to the pool during the week for training.  No problem.  In this Sunday masters training program, you’ll get pushed by USA swim coach John Lacey, who has completed the Maine trip crown of open water races and coached age group swimmers to the biggest meets in New England.  If you are training for a big goal, or want to see how much you can improve, come jump in.  Note, swimmers in this program should be able to swim 20 lengths of the pool non-stop as a baseline.-Sundays 10:00am - 12:00pm-July 10 - August 21-Max of 10-Rate: Member $70, Non-Member $112Aquatics Program Policies

Emphasis will be on using proper body alignment and techniques. It is a blast!Core Challenge: set to music and is designed to concentrate on your core muscles while offering a cardiovascular workout, strength training is also included with fit equipment covering all the muscles to gain better balance. The American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program focuses on building skills one step at a time. The American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program focuses on building skills one step at a time. By giving them the opportunity to master one element before moving on to the next, our kids' swim classes make it easy to build confidence in the water.During their swim lessons, children will spend time on the following six levels:LEVEL 1Instruction to Water Skills:  Students will learn how to feel comfortable in the water and safely enjoy it.LEVEL 2 (REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS LEVEL: Child can float on back and put head under water)Fundamentals of Aquatic Skills: Children will earn basic swimming skills.  Students must complete Level 1 to enter level 2.LEVEL 3 (REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS LEVEL: Child can swim front stroke and on back stroke) Stroke Development: Additional guided practice will help students improve their skills.  Students must complete Level 2 to enter Level 3.LEVEL 4 (REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS LEVEL: Child can front and back crawl 25 yards)Stroke Improvement: Students will gain confidence during swim lesson, improve their stroke and gain additional aquatic skills.  Students must complete Level 3 to enter Level 4.LEVEL 5 (REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS LEVEL: Child can freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke 25 yards. Also can scissor kick, whip kick, tread water, and dive)Stroke Refinement: Guidance allows children to refine their strokes and become more efficient swimmers.  Students must complete Level 4 to enter Level 5LEVEL 6 (REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS LEVEL: Child can swim front and back crawl 50 yards, elementary backstroke 25 yards, butterfly 25 yards, sidestroke 10 yards, tread 3 minutes, and dive)Swimming and Skill Proficiency:  Student will learn to swim with ease and efficiency and gain the ability to swim smoothly over greater distances.  Students must complete Level 5 to enter Level 6. Member Rate: $18.00/class / Non-Member Rate: $30.00/classFall Registration Dates- Members Policies and Procedures
