Safe and proper fundamentals will be stressed and participants will progress at their own rate.*There will be an additional $14 liability insurance fee payable to Boston Area Diving valid for one year from September - August for these diving classes.

Interested in getting Certified for Free!  Come join our Team!  Reach out to Will McClements for more information at wmcclements@concordma.govParticipant in the Lifeguard Program MUST be able to complete the following requirements prior to registering for the program:- Swim 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles may be used.- Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs with hands positioned under the armpits.- Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds: Starting in the water, swim 20 yards, surface dive and retrieve a 10 pound brick in 7-10 feet of water and return to starting point holding the brick with both hands while keeping your face above the water and exit the water without using a ladder or steps. Swim goggles are allowed.- Participants must be 16 years of ageFor the Re-certification Class: Participants must be already certified in order to take the re-certification class.

BeginnerNo prior diving experience is necessary. This class introduces safe and proper diving techniques and fundamentals. Each diver will progress at his or her own rate.IntermediateIf you have a gymnastics or tumbling background and you are comfortable doing a front somersault and bouncing on a diving board, then this class is for you. Safe and proper fundamentals will be stressed and participants will progress at their own rate.*There will be an additional $14 liability insurance fee payable to Boston Area Diving valid for one year from September - August for these diving classes.
