Adult & Teen Swim Lessons - Adult & Teen Intermediate (Su) 11:30am Fall 2 Swimming is an important life skill. It is a low-impact exercise to help keep you fit and healthy. It is also FUN! Don’t let the fear of water keep you from enjoying swimming. Now is the perfect time of year to “jump in the water.” BeginnerIn this class you will learn the basic swimming skills to keep you safe in the water. Emphasis will be on exhaling air while face is in the water, floating unassisted on front and back, treading water, and learning the basics of front crawl, back crawl and breast stroke. IntermediatePrerequisite: Able to swim 25 yards of front and back crawl. In this class you will review the skills from the Beginner Swim class and work on stroke mechanics for all four competitive strokes.NOTE: the class participant must be a member in good standing to register early and receive any discounts.

Adaptive Aquatics - Adaptive Intermediate (Su) 1:00pm Fall 2 In these 1:1 swim lessons, participants will work with American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors and a group of specially trained volunteers. All program and pool staff are certified in ARC Lifeguard Training, CPR, AED and First Aid.BeginnerFocus will be on participant's ability in the water as well as emphasis on safety, having fun, social interaction and developing positive self-image through successful participation.IntermediatePrerequisite: Participant must be able to safely swim 25 yards in 7 feet of water. Freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke will be developed and butterfly will be introduced. Participants will work on technique and endurance throughout this class as well as increase their level of physical fitness.
